In oktober 2008 vond de tweede conferentie van de Low Countries Library Link plaats in De Meerpaal in Dronten, onder de titel 'Learning Spaces, Working Places: the library as a learning centre'.
Drie dagen lang was de bibliotheek als leercentrum het centrale gespreksonderwerp van zo'n 90 bibliotheekvertegenwoordigers uit verschillende Europese landen.

Low Countries Library Link
De Low Countries Library Link was een samenwerkingsverband van de Vereniging van Openbare Bibliotheken in Nederland en het Vlaams Centrum voor Openbare Bibliotheken (VCOB). Samen organiseerden ze elk jaar een internationale conferentie. Het Goethe Institut was vaste samenwerkingspartner.
In 2008 werd de bijeenkomst mede georganiseerd door Bibliotheek Dronten, Bibliotheken Flevoland en de RijnbrinkGroep (Biblioservice Gelderland en Overijsselse BibliotheekDienst).
